Riverstone Massage Therapy School, LLC was created from more than 25 years of experience in massage therapy, education, and a genuine love for a profession that has given me so much.

Massage therapy has allowed me to spend my career helping people. There is something incredibly rewarding about working one-on-one with another person, listening to what they need, and using your knowledge and skills to help them feel and function better. Even after decades in this profession, I still find that work meaningful.

Riverstone is my opportunity to take everything I have learned—as a massage therapist, business owner, instructor, and lifelong student of the human body—and pass it on to the next generation of massage therapists.

Why I Chose the Name Riverstone
I wanted the name of the school to represent growth, movement, strength, and change.
A river is always moving. Over time, water shapes stone—not all at once, but gradually and consistently. A rough stone becomes smoother and more refined through the process.
I see education in much the same way.
Students don't walk into massage school knowing everything they need to know. Knowledge develops over time. Skills are practiced and refined. Confidence grows. Students begin to see the human body differently, communicate differently, and eventually develop their own identity as massage therapists.
Riverstone represents that process of growth and transformation.
It also represents something I believe strongly about the human body: we are not static. We move, adapt, respond, and change.

Giving Back to a Profession That Has Given Me So Much
Massage therapy has been a significant part of my life for more than 25 years.
It has given me a career I love, the opportunity to own my own practice, relationships with incredible clients, continued education, and the chance to teach and mentor future massage therapists.

Opening Riverstone is my way of giving back to the profession that has given me so much.
I want students to experience the possibilities that a career in massage therapy can provide. I also want them to understand that becoming an excellent massage therapist requires more than learning a sequence of techniques.
It requires curiosity, professionalism, critical thinking, communication, adaptability, and a willingness to continue learning throughout your career.

Why I Love Massage Therapy
One of the things I have always loved most about massage therapy is the opportunity to help people in a very personal, individual way.
Every client who walks through the door is different. They have different bodies, occupations, histories, goals, stresses, and reasons for seeking massage.
That is what keeps this profession interesting after so many years.
Massage therapy gives us an opportunity to listen, observe, problem-solve, and create a session for the person in front of us rather than simply performing the same routine on everyone.
Seeing someone leave a session moving better, feeling better, or simply having had an hour where they felt cared for is incredibly rewarding. That experience is something I want Riverstone students to understand from the beginning.

The Meaning Behind the Riverstone Logo
The Riverstone logo was also chosen intentionally.
The design represents fascia—the connective tissue network that extends throughout the body.
 
Fascia connects and surrounds muscles, bones, nerves, blood vessels, and other structures throughout the body. Rather than viewing the body as a collection of completely separate parts, fascia provides a visual reminder of how interconnected the human body truly is.
That concept reflects the way I want students at Riverstone to learn.
Anatomy isn't separate from movement. Movement isn't separate from the nervous system. Technique isn't separate from communication. And being a great massage therapist isn't separate from professionalism, ethics, business skills, and the ability to build relationships with clients.

Everything is connected.
The fascia-inspired Riverstone logo represents that connection and serves as a reminder of one of the most important principles students will learn here: look beyond individual parts and learn to see the whole person.

Experience Behind the School
I began my massage therapy career in 1999 and have completed more than 2,000 hours of continuing education throughout my career.
My experience includes more than two decades in private practice, seven years working alongside a chiropractor, and extensive experience teaching massage therapy students. I taught for approximately 15 years at The Institute of Holistic Studies and have continued teaching massage therapy and continuing education throughout my career.
That combination of clinical practice and education shaped the kind of school I wanted Riverstone to be.

I don't want students simply memorizing information long enough to pass a test. I want them asking why.
Why are we choosing this technique?
Why are we positioning the client this way?
What does the anatomy tell us?
What is the client communicating?
When should we change our approach?
When should we not massage?
Developing that kind of thinking is part of becoming a professional.

Building the Next Generation of Massage Therapists
Riverstone Massage Therapy School was created to provide students in Twin Falls and the Magic Valley with comprehensive, hands-on massage therapy education in a small learning environment.
Our 625-hour program combines massage techniques with anatomy and physiology, biomechanics, client communication, ethics, business education, and supervised clinical experience.
My goal isn't simply to graduate massage therapists.
My goal is to help develop knowledgeable, capable, ethical professionals who are prepared to build careers they can be proud of.
Massage therapy has been an incredibly rewarding career for me. Riverstone is my opportunity to share what I've learned, continue contributing to the profession I love, and help the next generation discover what this career can become for them.
